How to enable the new OneDrive Flyout

by evil_pro10 months ago

Today we’re going to show you how you can enable the new OneDrive flyout which Microsoft appears to be testing with a small amount of randomly chosen people.
The registry tweak we’re going to show you was found by @vitorgrs.

Here are the steps to enable the new flyout:

  1. Make sure you’re on OneDrive version 17.3.6720.1207 or newer. If you’re not up to date, click here to download it from Microsoft’s servers.
  2. Press Windows + R and type in regedit to open the Registry Editor.
  3. Navigate to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\OneDrive.
  4. Right click on an empty space and navigate to New -> DWORD (32-bit) Value.
    Name it TeamSiteSyncPreview.
  5. Now double click on the DWORD you just created and set its value to 1.

Alternatively, you can download TeamSyncSitePreview.reg from Microsoft’s servers. If your browser displays it as text, right click and hit Save as. Make sure to save it as a .reg file, and not a .reg.txt file. After saving it you can double click on it to merge it into the Registry.

If you followed the steps, you should see this flyout when clicking on the OneDrive icon in your taskbar.

Thanks once again to @vitorgrs for sharing this tweak on his Twitter profile.
